Reproduction Services During Covid-19 Closure

On March 11, 2020 the Massachusetts Historical Society closed until further notice in an effort to help stop the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus). Our library staff is currently working remotely without physical access to the Society's collections.

If you would like to consult with the reproductions coordinator regarding a reproduction or publication/permission request you can either call 617-646-0532 and leave a voicemail or send an email to reproductions@masshist.org.

The reproductions coordinator is currently able to process requests for permission to cite MHS materials in publications. The reproductions coordinator can also process requests to license images in cases where the requester already holds a publication quality image.

For all other requests, please note that we are uncertain when staff will be able to return the library and begin to process requests for high resolution and/or reference quality images. You are encouraged to place requests via Portal1791, but all requests will be placed on hold until we regain access to the collections.

To help guide you in making decisions about reproduction services you can consult the following informational pages. The reproductions coordinator will contact you with any questions about your request.

Low-resolution (reference quality) PDF files – service details and fee scale

High resolution (publication quality) TIFF files – service details and fee scale

Photo prints (suitable for framing and display) - service details and fee scale
